Abstract
Objective: Theaim of thisstudywastodeterminetheeffects of nutrition a behaviorsandphysicalactivitylevels on the BMI of individuals in Bursa centraldistricts.
Materials and Methods: The study was planned as descriptive and cross-sectional. The data of the study was collected from 195 people who gave informed consent from the individuals who applied to the obesity unit of the central districts of Osmangazi, Nilüfer, Yıldırım health centers between 15 Novemberand 15 February 2018. The data of the study were collected by using a questionnaire form which was prepared after literature review.
Results: The meanage of the participants was 43.17 ± 10.5 years. Of the participants, 61.5% were obese. Nutritional in formation, fast eating conditions, large amounts of food, bakery consumption status, white meat weighted feding attention and fastfood food consumption was found to be a significantly associated with BMI(p<0,05). Although there was no significant relationship between regular exercise and BMI, it was found that individuals BMI values were positively correlated with the minute of walking and moderate activity (p<0,05).
Conclusion: Obesity rate was 61.5%. It can be suggested that programs should be organized to reduce the risk of obesity by changing the traditional eating habits with the correct eating habits and by teaching individuals to increase physical activity.
