Abstract
INTRODUCTION
The study is planned in order to assess in terms of various demographic and obstetric characteristics of sexual function of women with urinary incontinence who admit to urogynecology clinic of a university hospital in Istanbul. It is cross sectional and descriptive.
METHODS
While the population of the study consists of women who admit to urogynecology clinic of a university hospital in Istanbul, the sample of study consists of 300 women with urinary incontinence willing to participate in the study who admit to clinic between March 2012 and November 2012; who sexually active, communication without barriers and recently to require major medical for intervention is not a physical disease.
To collectte data, Personal Information Form and 12-itemshort-form of the Pelvic Organ Prolapse/Uriner Incontinence Sexual Function Questionnaire (PISQ) are use.
To analyze of data, Statistical Package for Social Sciences for Windows 15.0 (frequency, mean, Pearson's correlation analysis, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)) are used.
RESULTS
At end of study, the average age of women has been found 49.68±8.54. It is found that mixed urinary incontinence in women as the most. It is found that the average total score PISQ is 31.50. As women and their husbands age, duration of marriage increase, the sexual functioning operates poorly (rp: -0.219 p: 0.000; rp: -0.277 p: 0.000; rp: -0.255 p: 0.000). However, as the longer marriage age and education level increrased, sexual functioning operates quite well (rp: 0.169 p: 0.003; rp: 0.256 p: 0.000). Only, women who gave relatively high number of live births are observed to be incapacitated in terms of behavioral and physical subdimensions of sexual performance and general sexual performance.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
Nurses and midwives should use their trainers, caregivers and investigators roles effectively in order to prevent negative effects on your sex life depends on urinary incontinence.
